There are four modules in the IELTS Test. Those are Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Listening & Reading consist of 40 questions each. A test taker has to complete 2 tasks in the Writing module and finally in the Speaking Test students have to face 3 parts(Basic question, Q-card & Follow up).

Viewpoint:

The IELTS test checks your English Proficiency. Many students find it hard to get their desired score in this test. Actually, they pose a different viewpoint towards this test. The IELTS test does not ask questions according to your previous study background. It just tests your English Level. Let’s focus on some aspects to make our core in English stronger.

Vocabulary:

The more words you know, the more proficient you are. Without having a good command in words, you cannot get your desired score. If I have to discuss how to learn new words and explore the language, the first thing that comes to my mind is English newspapers. It will help you a lot. There are lots of words in the newspaper and those are connected with our day to day life. Try to cover two newspapers in a week. Day by day your vocabulary will get stronger.

Conversation:

Try to conversate in English daily. This will build your muscle memory, make you confident and most importantly you can find your mistakes. Try to use idioms and phrases in your conversations. Being natural and developing ideas are the two most important components to get your desired score in the Test.

Language:

To learn a foreign language, we need to focus on the culture it comes from. This will make our work very easy. Gather information about that culture, lifestyle and environment. Knowing these things will give you much space to learn profoundly. Focus on the language by knowing its culture and values.

Research:

There are many common topics in the IELTS Test. You have to conduct research on some topics that are very practical and common.

  • Global Warming
  • Environment pollution
  • Marine and WildLife
  • Tourism
  • World Education
  • Crime and punishment
  • Global Crisis
  • Motherland
  • Likes and dislikes
  • Arts, Crafts and Music

Once you have your ideas on these topics, you will understand what to research next. Research about a topic always gives you an extra mile. It will improve your ideas and confidence. Always read and research.

Question Pattern:

There is no syllabus for this test. However, first you need to understand the question pattern and marking. After knowing this, you will understand where to start. Often students are puzzled by the fact that from where they will start their preparation. Once you understand the question pattern, it will be easy for you to start.

Practice:

It is true that practice makes a man perfect. You have to believe in this and start practicing as soon as possible. You have to practice and evaluate them to know whether you are improving or not. Without improvement, practice will not give you much benefit. Keep on practicing until the exam. Never lose hope or stop practicing. The hard work will pay off one day.
